With the Taking God to Work movement gaining a foothold in the U.S., Pastor Steve Reynolds and I have our sights set on the rest of the world. Wouldn't it be amazing if people around the world began involving God in their everyday work lives? Imagine the changes that would make. Think about the lives that could be altered for the better.
Taking God to Work is not about the success of the authors. God spoke clearly to each of us about 18 months ago. He wants all of us to make the best use of our time on earth. More than anything, He created us for relationship with Him. By becoming intentional about involving in our meetings, our customer service and our co-worker relationships, we gain the power to transform our jobs and workplaces.
When a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior, priorities change, focus moves from our own prosperity to the well-being of others. We learn by walking with God each day that He loves all people and wants to reconcile them to Himself. Our jobs are meant to demonstrate His care for the world. Our work becomes the very hands and feet of God to our fellow travelers. We are meant to do all for God's glory.
If your life is going along like mine used to go, your relationship with God is very private and your work life is in a separate bin. At work, you diligently do your job, but perhaps you fail to see the connection between work and your faith. This act of separating these parts of your life cuts you off from the blessings that God is so eager to bestow on you. The Taking God to Work movement is all about allowing God into your work world.
Through staring your day with prayer and worship on your way to work and upon arrival, you open the door for God to guide you throughout daily tasks. By asking Him to join you in meetings, on phone calls and during customer interactions, you are giving Him the opportunity to change lives - even your own.
Join us and thousands of others who are choosing to ask God along to your workplace each day. Once you have begun using the principles in the book Taking God to Work: The Keys to Ultimate Success, consider starting a small Bible Study at or near your workplace. Definitely do it on lunch hour, before or after work. We don't want to take productivity away from you job or steal hours from your company. Helpful questions are included at the end of each chapter to facilitate group discussion or deeper study for the individual.
When you start reaching out to other potential Bible Study participants, you will be surprised at how work fellowship will change the atmosphere of your workplace. God will direct you right to the people who need this and who can help you as well.
We Will Help You
If you begin a new study using the book, Pastor Steve or myself are happy to call or Skype into your first meeting. We would love to introduce the study and just greet your participants.
The first step is to get Taking God to Work and read it. Then, pass the movement along to others. Tell them how it impacted you and invite them to read and discuss the book with you as well.
